The guy below me is a little over critical

but what most he said was partially true. The drystals where very loud. Turn them down, or add a bit of wet reverb to them or something.

The bass needs to shine, make it louder! EQ it so its low ended a lot or something. As for the the drums, yes, i know they are originally simple, but doesn't mean some fancy hi hat work could hurt, or turning them up, as to match the crystals or the bass synth.

Good work, but I see quite a bit of room for improvement... still good though. Gets my 5 and download... for encouragement =D Maybe check out my songs sometime?

ZombiePosessor responds:

Yeah, this one's gonna get chalked up to a total fuck up cover, I did it whilst drunk and mastering with headphones. Ugh. Sorry.

Cool, quality instruments!

This song is impressing me from all sides. The dynamics are amazing, the drum work is phenomenal. The realisticness of this track is going to make my head explode!! Ahhh this is awesome. Automatic DL, and 5!

Awesome work man... oh wait, whats the score/. Huh? Woah, 10s across the board? I don't susually do that, be happy =)

Keep it up =D

Rythim-Man responds:

Ya I put alot of work in this song and stived towards originality. And it's pooped me out so I am not going to be making songs for a while (ofcourse I said that before but the music kept calling me).

Thanks for the review, btw, ur newest track was hot. It's nice and trancy, and it's pretty original. I think I might download too :p

Kirby

The only pink thing that I wil ever actually like =P

Awesome, I was expecting a cheap remix, but hey, I got the whole MIDI deal =D Fits Kirby, I must say. I would normally complain, but this fits.

Awesome work, I really like the whole VGM feel =D Keep it up! Maybe check out my stuff sometime?

Rythim-Man responds:

I like strawberry starbursts too, those are pink.

Ya, I was risking it by going back to the MIDI, but I've heard some raw stuff in MIDI, just cuz it isn't a real recording doesn't mean it's useless. It sounds more video gamish, and it's clearer more often than not. I thought it fitted, so I used it. Imagine the same song with real instruments...it just wouldn't 'feel' right. Eh, you wanna know something? I was going to make it a rap, but I realize alot of people don't like rap and I'd probably lose alot of respect lol.

I did check out ur stuff, ur newest one to date is pretty original.

Keep on keepin' on!

You have a few trance songs...

...so I had to review at least ONE =D Trance is the SHIT!

Awesome strings in the beginning. I thought something different was going to come up entirely with the filtered low chords, but then awesome fully filtered chords came in, and I was like, wow.

Then the melody filtered in with the snare roll and stuff, and the only thing I though that could amke the song sound any better than it already was is that the drums need to be fuller, you know? You cares about waiting, bring in the full open hi hat bit with the rid and the fast hi hats! It'll make the listeners much MUCH more happier.

The arrangment of this song is great, and is very well written, (like lots of stuff im eharing tonight). Freakin awesome work man. I love you.

Wait.

No.

I love you MUSIC. Your MUSIC. <_<

Lol, awesome work. Keep it up!!

Green-Phoenix responds:

Wow! I've never had a review with as much "good criticism" and energetic speech as yours!

Yeah, those strings are pretty kick ass. They were thanks to my good friend (and fellow beatmaker) DJ Puff 'n' Fresh! (DJ_PNF) Make sure you check out some of his stuff too, he's at the top of the goth chart at the moment with "Sickel in your back."

Thanks, I will be putting your ideas to work.

Your review is very much appreciated!!!

I voted 5 in advance.

Because I have great faith =D

The heavy reverb is completely awesome, very gothic... seems to be fitting what you wanted in the first place =)

I like the drum riffs and filteres you have, but I'd to ehar some phat dark bassline be pumped out eariler. I mean, the voices are good, but accompanied witha phat bassline that just goes 'HEY IM A BASS SYNTH. I CAUSE MASSIVE BRAIN TUMORS AND HEART ATTACKS CAUSE IM A GOOD SYNTH' would just make me collapse from heart failur it would be so good.

Awesome work, I am impressed wsith how much delatil you spend on FX. Keep it up!
Maybe check out my songs sometime?

Green-Phoenix responds:

Hey!

The big sound at the start is supposed to be like a massive, heavy clock tower pendulm swinging back and forth, I was hoping that the panning left & right would give that away. Anyway...

I agree with you completly on the thing with having the bass come in earlier. After listening to a few times from a "listener's" perspective, yeah, I think people wouldn't be bothered waiting.

I'm glad you realise that it takes time to create good FX. Most people just think that it's all just pre-made samples thrown in. I do spend a lot of time experimenting with basic sounds, that end up sounding incredible once I'm done with them.

If you like these FX, then I strongly recomend you check out my track "Inverse Universe" which has possibly the best effectuals I've created so far.

Enough chit chat, I'm goin straight to your page!

Thanks for your review!
PEACE OUT from LONE STARR.

Looplooplooploop

LOOP!

Took me two measures to get the groove right, but thats good, made me lsiten harder =)

Very groovy, I started bobbin my head almost instantely when I got the groove. I love the FX you threw on the plucked, and the little harmonic stirngs and the little fluteish type thing sound great. But theres something in that melody that has a sour note? =/

Other than that one note, I am really impressed. You sure can write some nice calming groovy loops =D Keep it up! (oh, and it also loops very good!)

LoneEagle responds:

Yup this one loops very well i tried something and it worked but it didn't work that well for the other song "Betrayed by the Shadows".

Hmmm, listening to it again i think that i have spotted that sour note that you are talking about. Although it isn't that big of a deal i'll try and be more careful next time so it doesn't happen again.

"Nice calming groovy loop =D" why thanks, i'll take that as a compliment.

As we speak right now i am not in the making of any new songs but of course i'll be "keeping it up". I just love to make music and i feel that i am getting better with each song that i make (if you listen to my first submission you'll see what i'm talking about :D

Thanks for reviewing.

Loops =D

I love reviewing them. Barely any work to do, and its easier to focus on the specifics.

I like the feel of the song in the beignning, very groovy, and your drum work and string chords is nice. The only thing I'd get rid of is the clap sample you have going there. Throws off everything.. add a clav, maybe a tamb sample or two, you know, add some nice equalled out high ended percussion to add more groove.

The melodies you bring in are great. I really enjoyed listening to this loop, great work on it. Maybe you can check out my songs sometime?

LoneEagle responds:

Loops... i think i'll be making more of those in the futur cause they are not to hard to make, and it might be good practice so that maybe one day i grow some skills and make some good stuff...

The claps are something that i almost never use and i don't think i'll use them again... they always feel out of place, i'll try some other instruments as you mentioned.

Thanks for the review, and you can bet that i will be checking out your audio :)

Sweet, I love crap.

I thought this was literally going to be shit, but it actually started to grow on me when it started up! The techno drums are very apparent, and I like them. Very fast paced. Everything is damned well written, the riffs are good, the melodics work well, and its very damn catchy. Good for a chase scene in a flash.

Keep it up, I really enjoyed this song =) Maybe you can check out my songs later?

Anth0n responds:

Hm, personally I think some of the notes don't go together well, but I'm glad you like it. When I make fast songs I tend to make them short and I finish them quickly.

I wouldn't mind checking out your songs later. Thanks for the sweet review!

The last petal has finally fallen...

And mankind knows not what to do.
They look around in confusion,
Moaning cries of confusion
And sorrow.
They look for direction
And to the sparks of shredded light
They march
Hoping to obtain the gift of life
Where they can see the petals rise
And give birth to something new
Where they can live
With hope
And be
Free.

Awesome work. I thoughrougly enjoyed the song. Awesome solos. Maybe check out my songs sometime?

digital-musician responds:

Thanks!! I'll always appreciate the great feedback you guys give me. Keep it up!

I agree.

NG DOES need a breakbeat catagorey.

The entire song sounds great as a whole, the 303 adds a nice smooth feel to the song =)

My only single complaint is that when the drums first come in they sound really really, well, sliced and incomplete. Maybe you could add some glitch slices or something to make it seem fuller?

Good work on the song, maybe you could check my stuff out sometime?

TheComet responds:

Sure thing, I'll take a peek at your stuff later if I get the chance!

I love Goa trance. Goa trance loves me. We make good music, Goa trance and I. You should check out some of our music in the audio portal =D
